| Each year, excited SuHi graduates venture off to college and embark upon the journey through higher education. National City students face many challenges, including financial hardship. You can help them by donating to the Alumni Association's Don Rice Memorial Scholarship. DON RICE Don and Etta Bell Rice both graduated from Sweetwater High School in the late 1940s. They ran the Alumni Association on their own for decades up until the 1990s. A few years ago, Don Rice passed away, but his legacy of service to Ol' SuHi lives on. Etta Bell Rice has initiated the alumni scholarship in the name of her beloved husband.
